Incredible Fall conditions lined up with the weekend of Exile/Mainstreet Surf Shop’s Octoberfest once again, and once again some of the most beautiful waves we’ve seen all year were had (you may remember Paulo Prietto’s wave at Wedge last year). This video is highlighting the weekend with Blair and Austin who placed top two respectively in the contest and who both had epic sessions in Laguna afterwards.
A couple last glimpses of this years banner, though short, Tenth season and a couple from a rehabilitating Aliso and town.
Continued Hurricane activity (Currently 11 for the season) combined with our typical bi-weekly SSW fall swells has made for some incredible sessions down at 10th Street. The majority of this footage is from last week when we saw 7 consecutive days of good siders, 4 of those days had two high tides making for an exhausting but epic week.
Check out the sand getting taken out in the beginning. The most recent swell exposing parts of the sider rock that haven’t been seen in possibly 20 years or more (there have been some contrasting stories regarding dates and sand amounts). Also note the speed generated from Blair’s railgrab bottom turn at around 1:02.
We’re back from summer wanderings. And the waves are good. And it feels good.
Summertime is what Skimboarding is all about. Warm water, warm weather, a pair of boardshorts and a board.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the premiere it was a wild success and a great time! If you weren’t able to make it you can buy it online or in stores on DVD now right here from Exile, right here from Skim City or right here from Alley Oop. Support your local shop!
As summer approaches Wedge get’s a little more tricky because a lot of new people start mixing into the crowd bringing unusual dynamics which tends to add another aspect of danger. This video highlighting some of that will probably be our last one on the spot until the fall.
Also note that we may be ending the subscription portion of our website and offering only the pay-per view option as we will begin to work on some bigger-picture, more long-term goals this summer and will likely be releasing less videos.
Apologies for the delay but we have been working very hard preparing a real treat: We are pleased to be releasing our third and final full-length film entitled MOV3 (or MOVE, if you like). We hope to premiere it Saturday the 28th and it will be available for download and on DVD that night.
We are quite excited about the final product and all the progression that has taken place during it’s creation. Please share this and help us spread the word!
I was not planning on going to Cabo as the Spring season combined with the contest crowds make May an unfavorable month to go for me, but a last minute offer to do the contest video changed my mind, and I’m glad I did. Cabo isn’t new or unexplored in the least, and I don’t care much for the city, but the ocean and local beaches are timeless and the collision thereof never gets old. The wave is inexplicably powerful and the video does it little justice, but here is a lot of what went down outside the contest-
